            In this quote by Dr. Ben Carson, one can say that there is no excuse to be in poverty. Anyone can get out of poverty or not be in it. It’s a choice you make that no one else can make for you. Poverty is your choice something you inherit.

Eastern Medicine Doctor

Duties and Responsibilities:

                 TCM focuses on strengthening the body's defenses and enhancing its capacity for healing and to maintain health.

Salary:

                $52,000 per year.            

Education:

                Attend a college, university or specialty school that offers certificate and degree programs in this field. There are a number of certificate programs available in alternative medicine specialties, such as holistic health, massage therapy, herbal medicine, yoga instruction and oriental body therapy. Anatomy and physiology courses are common to many types of alternative medicine programs; other coursework varies.

Reflection:

                In my personal opinion no I would not like to be a Eastern Medicine Doctor. I just simply have no interest in this field one bit.

Astronauts

Duties and Responsibilities:  

                A NASA commander, pilot or mission specialist whose job it is to manage space exploration vehicles and launch into outer space. These courageous professionals are often former test pilots, engineers or scientists and are among a selected few that pass the requirements to become astronauts.

Salary:

 $89,100 per year.

Education:

                1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in engineering, biological science, physical science, or mathematics. An advanced degree is desirable. Quality of academic preparation is important.

2. At least 1,000 hours pilot-in-command time in jet aircraft. Flight test experience is highly desirable.

3. Ability to pass a NASA space physical which is similar to a military or civilian flight physical and includes the following specific standards:

• Distant visual acuity: 20/100 or better uncorrected, correctable to 20/20 each eye.
• Blood pressure: 140/90 measured in a sitting position.

Reflection:

                I would like to become an astronaut the whole scene just fascinates me. It’s a challenge worth accomplishing, the pay is good. Plus it would be a huge benefit to have all the knowledge they have.

      In this quote by Dr. Randy Pausch, one can say that karma is always in set to destine your life. if you live it the right way and do what is right, you’d be rewarded with the same. For example if you are a caring person and care so much for others, people would do the same to you.

(ENT) Doctor

Duties and Responsibilities:

            A physician trained in the medical and surgical treatment of the ears, nose, throat and related structures of the head and neck.

Salary:

Education:

            You must finish medical school for about 5 years and complete a residency to receive a certificate.

Reflection:

            I would like to be an ENT doctor I like its pay and would not mind doing it for my career.

                In this quote by Mario Cuamo, one can say when you do something wrong you know it. After being done it ends up not being right one way or the other. For example one day I was in an argument with my cousin and I had some hurtful information about him, I tried to not say it but at the peak of the argument my rage let it out. I noticed it hurt him and was not right at all. 

Electrocardiograph Technician   

Duties and Responsibilities:

Electrocardiograph Technicians use special equipment and medical techniques to record the electrical impulses transmitted by a patient’s heart.  

Salary:

                $30,104 per year.

Education:

                Requires a certificate or associates degree in cardiovascular technology.

Reflection:

                I would not like to be a electrocardiograph technician, I just simply do not find interest in the job or pay.

  

Winter Break

During this winter break I did not spend it how I really wanted to. I spent most of my days at home, I went out a couple of times but I spent most of it at home. I had a couple of practices early in the morning. On the last week I attended a tournament at Huntington Park High School. I had a good time there I saw many of my friends from there as well as my old coaches. The tournament was a good experience. Overall I could have of spent it better but it was not so bad.

                In this quote by Martin Luther King Jr., one can say that anyone can be educated. People are educated but have horrible character. Having a good character and intelligence is the best way to be educated.  

Registered Dietitian

Duties and Responsibilities:

                Experts in food and nutrition, advise people on what to eat in order to lead a healthy lifestyle or achieve a specific health related goal.

Salary:

                $55, 240

Education:

                You must have a bachelor’s degree, and do training as an internship.

               

Reflection:

                I would somewhat like to be a dietitian because I would know how to be healthy but I am also hungry. I would want a higher paying job, so I would not like to be one.
