Final Part 2

A.      What I liked about this class was that It helped me a lot on learning new instruments a computer gives. I know Microsoft Word like the back of my hand I can maneuver it and do whatever I want now because of this class. It also has helped me learn how to type way faster than when I first started. Things I didn't like about this class is we were not able to choose our seats but besides that I enjoyed this class.                

B.      Suggestions for improving this class..

o   Different assignments that are fun, not the same thing every day.

C.      Yes I really did my best in this class, I showed up every day to do my work and not fall behind.

D.      No I do not read my 100+ Goals daily for at least two minutes I read them usually every other day when I come to your class but I will try my best to start since there will be no school for a while.

E.       Yes I am committed to being a CTR person, right now I am really focused on having really great grades and being a great basketball player, I would not be either with out choosing the right.

F.       What I will do to promise to take responsibility for my Body-Mind and Spirit is eat right, exercise, read, and do what is right and try my best to never be negative or do what is wrong. 

Final Part 1

    

     When I was first presented the Interdisciplinary Unit, I was nervous at the start. This was the first time I experienced this project and the sound of the presentation terrified me from the start. The crowd and especially the panel of professionals who were going to grade us.  After the explanation, I immediately got into my group to brainstorm our topic.We had to research and present about a health innovation that was made in the last ten years. We did not initially have our topic until about a week in. We had a couple of topics at first but they did not qualify because they were created before 10 years from today. About a week in we concluded we were going to present and work on the health innovation of an injectable antibiotic named doripenem created in 2005. It did not take us that long to finish the entire slide show and gather the research. We soon made flash cards to study what we were going to be presenting. My part of this presentation was an expo, i had to greet everyone and present my team. I also had to explain our health innovation on what it was, what it did, and where and when it was created. On the day of the presentation, I was terrified throughout the whole day. Every class teachers would talk about it, then students would bring it up. As the hours got closer the worse it got. Soon It was time to head back to school to present. As the final moment arrived i looked in the room and lost it i was so nervous. I walked in the room where i then started. Luckily it went smooth and we got a good grade it was not the best expirience but i know it will benefit me in the future.

In this quote by Abraham Lincoln, one can say with doing good things you would feel great about yourself and what have you done. But when you do wrong or bad on something you do not feel the one bit of good. For example on a test, if you studied for a test and you do excellent on the test you would feel great on what you have earned. On the other hand if you bomb it because you did not study, you would feel bad on what you earned.

In this quote by Mr. Haymore , one can say that one should take care of their own body, mind, and spirit. If you take care of these you will receive a healthy physical and mental well-being. You determine this with your own actions. One way to keep your body healthy is by having a healthy diet and exercising. Your mind can stay healthy by eating right and always thinking positive. While spirit, you can keep it healthy by attending religious ceremonies of one’s religion.

    In this quote by Richard L. Evans, one can say that one thing we should always do and continue do is what is right, such as go to school, do your work, be a hard worker. Things that we should stop are things we shouldn’t do such as tell lies or be lazy when it comes to academics. 

Reflection

             In the story told by Patrick, Patrick tells he was a boy camping in the desert and he wanted to go walk around see around. His parents had told him to wear always wear shoes, but him being lazy and rebellious he wore his sandals instead. As he is walking on the sand he feels something poke his foot. He checked, it turned out a scorpion had stung him. Soon the pain came in effect. He screamed for his parents, his parents soon rush to the nearest hospital being two hours away. When he arrives they give him an injection, within twenty four hours the sting had no effect anymore. He learned a lesson that day, when his parents tell him to do something he should do it, he chose what was wrong and soon paid the consequences.

     In this quote by President John F. Kennedy, one can say that physical fitness is not the only important key to body health but so is intelligence. The only way to receive both is if you have a healthy body. 

Dermatologist

Duties and Responsibilities: 

                Dermatology is a branch of medicine dealing with the hair, nails, skin and its diseases.  

Salary:

                $316,770 - $ 440,092 per year.

Education:

                To become a dermatologist you must receive a bachelor’s degree, take courses in English, math, inorganic, and organic chemistry, physics and biology.

Reflection:

          I may consider this job because I like the salary they make per year. 

Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving Day

           

        Thanksgiving is an American holiday held every year on the fourth Thursday in November. The purpose of this holiday is a day of giving thanks for what they have. It is celebrated by family feasting. This holiday was first brought up when Plymouth colonist shared a feast with Wampanoag Indians. Since then different colonies celebrated thanksgiving on their own. It was until 1863 during the Civil War president Abraham Lincoln proclaimed a national Thanksgiving Day to be held each November. 

Act of Kindness

In the first video there is a boy, Mitchell who loves the sport of basketball but had a disability and did not play for his high school. He was a coaches assistant during season. On the final game coach surprised everyone by playing Mitchell in the last minutes. Mitchell had some shot attempts but missed or turned over the ball. On the last plays the opposing team had the ball, the boy with the ball taking out called Mitchell and threw him the ball he soon turned and scored, the crowd went nuts. The opposing team player held an act of kindness and fulfilled a young man’s dream. At the end both teams won.

Dental Assistant

Duties and Responsibilities:

          Dental assistants work closely with licensed dentists before, during and after dental work. They prepare patients for procedures, record medical histories, take x-rays and prepare dental equipment.

Salary:

          $34,750.

Education:

            There are no formal education requirements for entering a career in dental assisting. Some assistants have a high school diploma and only receive on-the-job training. Some can take post secondary dental assisting programs that one may take.

Reflection:

          Personally I would not like to become a Dental Assistant; I have my eyes on a much greater field than that.

Dental Lab Technician

Duties and Responsibilities:

                Dental laboratory technology is the art and science of manufacturing corrective devices and replacements for natural teeth.  A dental lab technician works closely with the dentist, who plans the treatment and places the restoration or corrective device in the patient's mouth.

Salary:

                $26,000- $40,000 per year.

           

Education:

                The minimum education requirements for dental laboratory technicians are a high school diploma or equivalent. 

Reflection:

                I personally would not like to be a Dental Lab technician, the job just simply does not interest me, I hate the dentist and would rather not work for one. Also the pay does not satisfy me, I would like to make more.  

Veterans Day

 

Veterans Day is a commemoration towards the veterans who served in any war for the United States. It is held on November 11, due to an armistice that was declared by the allied powers and Germany on the 11^th hour, of the 11^th day, of the 11^th month. It was Originally known as “Armistice Day” but due to WWII it was changed to “Veterans Day” , a holiday dedicated to American  veterans

Education:

                 To do psychotherapy you must have a master's degree in psychology or one of the social sciences and complete a post-graduate internship.

Reflection:  

I would consider a psychotherapy, it does not seem like a job I would hate or dislike, and I would love to have all that knowledge they maintain, and they get paid well.

Education:

            Yoga teachers must be certified or be working it. There are training programs for doing yoga and yoga instructors can help . You can get the classes at yoga studios etc.

Reflection:

            I personally would not like to become a yoga instructor, I do not find the job interesting and would like to have a higher salary.

Chromotherapy or Color Therapy

Duties and responsibilities: Chromotherapy is a method of treatment that uses the visible spectrum (colors) of electromagnetic radiation to cure diseases.

Education: They need to get a degree on anatomy, physiology, and pathology.

Reflection: I personally would not like to be a Chromotherapist because the subject does not interest me, plus I would want to earn more than what they make.

You would always be remembered for that good you were known of. Such how people like MLK died but is still remembered for his tributes to gain equality.

Columbus Day

     Christopher Colubus was born in Genoa, Italy on October 31, 1451. He was an Italian explorer who discovered the “new world”  of the Americas on an expedition sponsored by King Ferdinand of Spain in 1492. Columbus Day is a U.S. holiday that commemorates the landing of Christopher Columbus in the New World on October 12, 1492. It was unofficially celebrated in a number of cities and states as early as the 18th century but did not become a federal holiday until the 1937. What i feel about this day is that it is a commemoration to finding America and getting Europeans to settle here. But it is not such a good thing in my eyes because they were native Americans living here and soon they were eventually kicked out.
